Entertaining in Oscar Gold

The 85th Academy Awards are on this Sunday! I plan to spend the evening with my butt on the couch star-gawking at, yet another, awards show. (Don't these celebrities ever get sick of giving each other awards?) All hating aside, I do love to critique the attire and I'm a big Seth MacFarlane fan so it should be a good show! Sadly, I literally have not seen any of the movies nominated for best picture. I'm usually so much better about seeing them, so hopefully I can go see at least one best picture nom this weekend. Trying to get my husband to go see Les Misérables is like trying to get my dogs to clean up after themselves. It's just not going to happen.

Let's not forget what the Academy Awards are really about...that shiny, naked statue named Oscar! You can learn about the most recognizable trophy in the world, here, but what's most exciting is that it's dipped in 24-karat gold. I may not be hosting an Oscar party, but that statue has me seeing gold this week, so I've wrangled some of my favorite gold things in one place. I'm in love with those gold star sprinkles and the hyde park wallpaper that graces my walls now is the perfect touch of gold. Enjoy the Academy Awards this Sunday.
